 Division 1
Telecoms

Telecoms are the first of five teams of Telecoms TTC.
2007-8 has seen the previous Telecoms and former Telex teams coming together after former stalwart Paul Monteith decided to take a 'time out' to attend to family commitments after their 'o-so-near' to taking the title in the previous season where they were pipped to the post in a title play off.
Ryan Docherty is the youngster in the team (although now in his 20's) and is current Club Champion. He also regularly turns out for the D&DTTA team at the annual Inter-League and has had success at Junior level. Ryan started his TT with the Mylnefield club before joining up at Telecoms initially in the lower divisions before showing enough promise to force his way into the first team. Ryan is generally considered to be an attacking style player.
Iain Meldrum has returned to Telecoms where he was a regular fixture from the early 80's until dropping down a team for a couple of years. Iain represented the District on a number of occasions and led the Telecoms team that played in the now defunct National League. Iain served on the D&DTTA committee as Match Secretary for a couple of years in the 80's. Iain's game these days is played close to the table looking for openings and using a counter blocking game to foil opponents.
Ian Farquhar is having his first taste in the top team having started his TT career in the Perth Leagues prior to coming down to Dundee to try his hand here also in the early 80's. Ian flitted between Division 1 and 2 for a number of years in the Telex team. He also had many successes in the Telecoms National League team who travelled all over Scotland while the league was up and running. For a number of years Ian kept the D&DTTA books in great shape as Treasurer. Ian plays with a combination bat using his long pimples to good effect.

 Division 2

Thumpers

Thumpers began as a team in Broughty Lawn Tennis Club but moved to Plebeians TTC due to lack of players. The four players have played together for a few years and are one of the top sides in division two but inconsistency has cost them points. They have often managed to lose from a winning position!! A good cup run seems their best hope of success this year. It is also the only team throughout the District that fields three ladies on a regular basis.
Jill Milne, currently Honorary Secretary of DDTTA, has been playing table tennis for 20 years now and her first team was the all-female Arrows in Division 5. During her teens, Jill played in Scottish tournaments and still enjoys participating in the Inter-League. She has gradually moved up the divisions and has played in division 2 for the last 3 years. Jill loves a good attacking match and describes her game as 'temperamental'!
Fiona Kinloch is currently playing her 21st season in the league having started playing for Broughty Ferry YMCA in division 5. This represents a gradual climb up the divisions playing for Bullets, Arrows, Bullets again, Bughties and finally in her seventh season for Thumpers in division 2. During this time Fiona has won some local tournaments, represented the Scottish Schools Team, in the Isle of Man and Birmingham, and won a Universities Team gold Medal while studying in Aberdeen. She is also a member of the executive committee and has previously been Match Secretary and Honorary Secretary.
Carol McLean enjoys various hobbies, including horse riding, golf, walking and watching live football as Forfar Athletic supporter, where her dad was Chairman - and table tennis! She has proudly represented Scotland 6 times in the Veterans’ Six Nations Championships!
Ian McLagan has been Chairman of the DDTTA since 1990 and also Chairman of the Scottish Veterans’ association since 1993. He has played in second division for a great number of years, and this year he has broken into the SVTTA rankings in his age group at number 2.

 Divison 3

Barons

Barons are one of the Mylnefield TTC teams, and they ply their trade in the District’s Division Three. Fabio Sani is entering his third year in the league. Last season Fabio was just beginning to find his form when serious illness prevented further participation. This year he aims to rediscover his form from last year and to improve from there – his early showings in the first two games of the season already look promising! His team-mate David Goddard is the gentle giant of the team renowned for his timekeeping. David is the only Baron to have played table tennis before even if it was "a long time ago". It is David's aim to find some killer instinct and put his practice form into matches. Derek Johnston, long since left in his son's shadow, is determined to keep improving in an effort to stay ahead of his wife! Derek plays for enjoyment but admits it is more fun when Barons can manage to win.

 Division 4

Bishops

Bishops are one of the teams entered by Mylnefield TTC and ply their trade in Division Four for the second year. Marilyn Morton was a regular at Friday night coaching last year, joining Bishops after Christmas where she was a definite asset in the Doubles League. Marilyn is looking forward to playing some league singles this year! Juliet Johnston thoroughly enjoyed playing in Division 4 last year, despite barely winning a match. Juliet is hoping to win a few games this season, though! Bruce Duncan is in his early teens and has been playing TT for about 6 months. He is developing some reliable shots and time will tell about future development and progress. Bruce's younger brother Blair, a Saturday morning football enthusiast, also started to play TT recently.
