1. What is the Message Board.

The Message Board is provided to allow D&DTTA members to hold online discussions. Users can post topics and reply to other users postings. The board is hosted for us by a company called 'RunBoard', this is also why you see the 4 little adverts across the top of the board. You will need to open an account to post to the board, but anyone can read the messages.

2. How do I join the Message Board.

A detailed guide to joining the message board can be found here: How to join the message board

3. What can I post the the Message Board.

The board can be used to post anything, but its main purpose is for information about the D&DTTA. An example of the sort of information that is expected is comments on past games, questions about upcoming events, discussions about rules, suggestions for events, information about any TT news & comments and suggestions for the web site. No post should include any swearing or in any way bring disrepute to the D&DTTA or any of its clubs and members, any one found abusing the board will be barred and reported to the D&DTTA committee for further action.

4. That is a 'Local' and 'Global' user.

From the RunBoard web site:

Someone arrives creates a new global account, lets say Bob.
That person can quite happily trawl round the whole site and visit and post on whatever board they want.

Ok, now. What is someone on my board really wants the name Bob, so they sign up for a local account that they can only use on my board.

What would happen if the global Bob visited my board?

They would both appear as Bob, except the local user would have "Local user" below their name, and the global user would have "Global user" below theirs, in the post list. In the pages other than the post list, it would be harder to distinguish between both.

5. What does 'sticky' and 'unsticky' mean?

From the RunBoard web site:

When you 'sticky' a topic, it will always appear in the top of the topic list. Do it for important topics like forum rules, important announcements. Stuff you don't want to fall off the top when other topics are posted.

Unsticky just removes this tag and the topic becomes normal.

6. Who and what are Moderators.

The moderators (which should consist of at least the current committee of the D&DTTA) have the ability to modify or delete messages that are considered inappropriate, they can also ban users. If you think any one is abusing the board please report it either to myself or to one of the D&DTTA committee.
